Tidal pools

Located on the southern coast of Hilton Head Island, Coligny Beach Park is one of the island’s most popular beaches. It’s also a great place to play volleyball, rent a bike, and even enjoy a cocktail at the Tiki Hut outdoor bar.

Tidal pools are natural pockets of sea water that are formed by the receding of the ocean at low tide. These pockets can be found in a variety of locations, including depressions, undulations, and sandy beaches.

There are a number of tidal pools at Coligny Beach. These pockets are home to a range of creatures, from rock crabs to eels. The sand at Coligny Beach stays at least 3 feet deep. This makes it a great spot for collecting beach treasures.
