10 Tips for Power Wash House

Power wash house is a great way to clean the exterior and prepare it for painting or staining. It’s also a good way to remove mold, mildew, and dirt from your home. In order to get the most out of power washing your house, follow these 10 tips: 

1. Choose the right pressure washer. The pressure of the water coming out of the power washer is measured in pounds per square inch (PSI). For most surfaces, a pressure washer with 1,500 to 2,000 PSI is sufficient. If you’re washing brick or stone, you’ll need a pressure washer with 2,500 to 3,500 PSI.
2. Use the right nozzle tip. Different nozzle tips produce different spray patterns. A 0-degree nozzle produces a narrow, concentrated stream of water that can damage some surfaces. A 40-degree nozzle produces a wider spray pattern that’s less likely to damage surfaces but isn’t as effective at removing dirt and grime.

   

3. Hold the nozzle about two feet from the surface you’re cleaning. This will help prevent damage to the surface.
4. Move the nozzle in a side-to-side motion as you clean. This will help loosen dirt and grime.
5. Start at the bottom of the surface and work your way up. This will prevent streaks from forming on the surface.
6. Be careful of power washing too close to windows, doors, and other openings. The high-pressure water can force water into these openings, causing damage to your home.
7. Rinse the surface with clean water after power washing. This will remove any soap or chemicals that may be left behind by the power washer.
8. Let the surface dry completely before painting or staining.
9. If you’re using a chemical cleaner, follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
10. Use caution when power washing around electrical outlets and wiring. Water can seep into electrical components and cause damage. If you follow these tips, power washing your house will be a quick and easy way to clean the exterior of your home.
